We warmly invite home-schooled students, or students who attend any school.

If your child is at the Bryn Athyn Church School, we will meet in Heilman Hall before going over.  Joanne will supervise while the girls relax or do homework or eat their snack.

Attire for Class:  For all types of dance, the requirement is to wear a leotard and tights under whatever shorts and shirts they are wearing.  If they are wearing dance pants or sweat pants, they don't need to wear tights underneath and they still wear a leotard.  Many students wear shirts (tank tops, t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts) over their leotards.  Any color leotard and tights is fine.

Shoes:  Black jazz shoes within the first couple of weeks.  Hip Hop sneakers -any kind and color.

Performance:  Tuesday, May 22 at 8:00 PM.  Dancers must be there by 6:30 PM

If they are going to be in the performance, they must be able to also attend the the dress rehearsal, which is Monday, May 21 from approximately 7:00 - 9:30 PM.  They also cannot miss more that 1 day of class to participate in that particular dance.

Performers will need to buy attire for the performance for approximately $20 per dance.

This performance is optional.  Girls may attend classes and are not obligated to be in the performance.

Please fill out the form.  Also, each girl MUST have a copy of a sports physical on file.  If your daughter attends BACS, and you have a sports physical with Kathy McQueen, you can obtain a copy there.  BACS cannot send it over to the high school.  You or your daughter must take it over (or send it in the mail, attn:  Sarah Gladish, box 707, Bryn Athyn, PA  19009) by the first class on March 12.  No one will be allowed to attend without the physical.

TUMBLING AND GYMNASTICS

Luke Frazier is a high school senior at ANC.  He will be running a 7 week introduction to tumbling and gymnastics class as a part of his Senior Project service work.  Luke loves to work with children and loves to do all sorts of sports with them.  He helped run Speed and Agility last summer for 3rd-5th graders.  This class will introduce the children to basic tumbling and gymnastics.  Gymnastics enhances body awareness, coordination, strength and balance.  Luke will be assisted by his project mentor, David Steen.

HAND BELLS

Hand Bells have a beautiful clear sound and students can learn them quickly.  It proves to be a valuable asset to students who are studying other instruments, especially piano.  Ringing in a hand bell choir re-enforces and strengthens the student's ability to read music and effectively enhances their rhythm, making counting beats second nature, all while the child is having fun!

  • Teacher:  Maret Genzlinger
  • 4th grade and up.
  • Wednesdays, 2:30-3:45
  • March 28 - May 30
  • In Heilman Hall

Sewing will be held in the room we call the LUNCH BUNCH room in Heilman Hall, next to the Kitchen.
